  • Derek Major obtained a Veterinary Degree from Sydney University in 1978 and has practiced as an Equine Veterinary Surgeon and Practitioner for more than 35 years. In 1989 he co-founded Agnes Banks Equine Clinic and for 25 years was Managing Director and Principal. Agnes Banks Equine Clinic is an equine veterinary practice in outer Sydney which has grown to a 9-10-person practice with a staff of around 25, including 3 registered specialists.
  • He has been heavily involved in the horse industry, consulting in and participating in equestrian sport. He has broken in and trained racehorses and sport horse from time to time alongside his principal business as a veterinarian.
  • He divested his business interest in Agnes Banks Equine Clinic in December 2015, and continues to participate as requested, while branching out into a consultancy business, Derek Major Consulting Pty Ltd. Abn 40 610 482 365
